Metabo HPT has launched two 12-amp corded angle grinders to get more done on the job with less downtime. The Metabo HPT 4-1/2″ Paddle Switch Disc Grinder and 5″ Paddle Switch Disc Grinder both deliver AC-powered muscle that won’t drop off just because of an extra-long extension cord. Plus, with the addition of brushless motors, both models eliminate the maintenance that comes with armatures and carbon brushes.

We’re no strangers to the joys of brushless motors. They’re more efficient, provide more power, and extend the life of the tool with little-to-no downtime on account of maintenance. And Metabo HPT has added this significant upgrade to the Corded Paddle Switch Angle Grinders.

With brushless motors, these angle grinders eliminate the need for carbon brush replacement or issues that result from the motor armature burning out. As a result, you’ll experience less service-related downtime.

Additionally, the Metabo HPT Corded Angle Grinders feature electronic controllers that compensate for reduced power due to drops in voltage. Metabo HPT has designed them both for compatibility with a generator with an inverter circuit that cleans up and modulates the electricity before the motor puts that power to use. This provides you with steady, stable operation and reduces the potential for damaging the grinders’ internal circuitry.

Metabo HPT sees the G12BYEQ and G13BYEQ Angle Grinders as an ideal grinding solution for mobile trade Pros that find themselves on the jobsite without a source of permanent power. Both models provide 12-amp, high torque brushless motors with 1,600 max watt output. Both display a no-load speed of 10,000 rpm and weigh just 4.6 lbs.

You can pick up either of the Metabo HPT Corded Paddle Switch Grinders from most major retailers. You can pick up the G12BYEQ 4-1/2″ Angle Grinder for $149, while the G13BYEQ 5″ model retails for $159. Both models include a filter set, side handle, spanner wrench, and hex bar wrench. They both also include a 1-year warranty.
